Egeraracsa is a village in Zala County in Hungary, located in the Western Transdanubia region. It is located near the Little Balaton (Kis-Balaton) and belongs to Keszthely County.

**Geographical location:**
Egeraracsa is located in the southeastern part of the Zala Hills, nestled in a picturesque valley. The Bárándi stream flowing through the village divides the municipality and flows into the Little Balaton. The main road 7526 connects Egeraracsa with the surrounding municipalities of Esztergályhorváti and Pacsa.

**History:**
The name "Eger" is probably derived from the alder trees that are common in the surrounding forests, while "Aracsa" goes back to the Aracsa family who settled here in the 13th century. Aracsa is one of the oldest settlements in Zala County and was already obliged to pay tithes to the Zalaapáti Monastery in 1019. The first church was built in 1237. During the Turkish period, the village was destroyed several times, but experienced a revival in the 18th century with the settlement of Catholic Hungarians. The two districts of Eger and Aracsa were united to form Egeraracsa in 1880.

**Population:**
As of January 1, 2024, Egeraracsa had 322 inhabitants. The population has experienced slight fluctuations in recent years, but has remained relatively stable.

**Attractions and tourism:**
Nearby Egeraracsa is Lake Balaton, a major nature reserve known for bird watching and its unique flora and fauna. For visitors, "Aracsa Farm és Vendégház" offers accommodation in a rural setting with amenities such as a seasonal outdoor pool and a hot tub.

**Accessibility:**
Egeraracsa is accessible via road 7526, which connects the village with the surrounding communities. There are bus connections to Zalaegerszeg, Keszthely and Zalakaros. The nearest larger towns are Keszthely and Nagykanizsa.
